Walnut Creek Virtual Tour
(Some Macs may not be able to view tour.)

The small city of Walnut Creek is situated in the middle of the beautiful Diablo Valley area at the foot of Mt. Diablo, 3,850 feet and 19,000 acre Mt. Diablo State Park. If you are considering a move here and are interested in Walnut Creek area real estate and what the community has to offer, Walnut Creek is a real gem.

The recently refurbished downtown area is beautifully done and is a delight to shoppers from surrounding communities. First class restaurants such as Va de Vi, Lark Creek Walnut Creek, Il Fornaio, and Prima's, and inviting retail space of all kinds from Williams and Sonoma and Nordstrom's to Macy's, Cost Plus Imports and Coldwater Creek, plus various upscale Walnut Creek grocery stores such as Andronico's and Whole Foods provide a wonderful array of shopping choices. A brand new shopping area, The Corners complex, is located on the southwest corner of Main Street and Mt. Diablo Blvd. It is a 33,000-square-foot retail development which includes Tiffany's jewelry store, a new Apple Computer store, Pottery Barn for Kids and a new restaurant. Also, just a few blocks away is the new Olympic Place complex with the Century Theater, a parking garage and more retails stores.

Add to that the wonderful recreational facilities and designated open space areas centered around beautiful Mt. Diablo and you'll find this part of the Diablo Valley to be very inviting.

Walnut Creek has a population of about 64,296 (2000 census) residents in an approx. 19.45 square mile area. It would be in the small city category. It's big enough for wonderful shopping and dining but small enough not to have the disadvantages of big city/urban life.

If you are considering buying a home here, the words that come to mind in regards to
Walnut Creek would be very livable, small city, pleasant residential areas
,
good schools, upscale shopping, top restaurants, convenience to BART, lots of open space, abundant parks and trails, golf and tennis facilities, riding facilities (horses), and pleasant weather year round.

In addition, Walnut Creek is just a short drive of 30 or 40 minutes (non-commute hours) to San Francisco and all the big city life you might desire. Time during rush hour would be greater, probably an hour or more. Remember though that Walnut Creek has a BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) station right down town. It is the preferred mode of transportation by many in the area.

The Walnut Creek real estate market benefits from all the positives above and has been a strong market for a number of years. Need a local agent to assist you? Contact me today and I will provide you with 3 names of very experienced local agents who appear to meet your specific needs. Finding an agent will not be the "hit or miss" process that occurs so often.
